Dear friends, 

We are glad to welcome you on the new website of Rotaract Club Kyiv. Now, our communication will be even more interactive and close, as here you will be able to find our reports on previous projects, presentations, slideshows, videos and photos. 

We will also keep you updated on all exciting events, happening in our club. Among them are trips inside Ukraine and abroad, invitation of interesting guest speakers, get-togethers and other. 

This person is not just a RAC member, not just an officer, who took all possible offices from Secretary to DRR, not just an active and positive figure. He is the energy of Ukrainian Rotaract, its inspiration, driving force, its name and good reputation abroad. He is the soul of Rotaract. He is Roman Palash.

This December Rotaract Club Kyiv took part in an international project, entitled “Come Visit”, as it was not only a wonderful opportunity to get acquainted with people from other Rotaract clubs, discover a new country with its unique culture, traditions and customs, but also show everything that our country, city and club can be proud of. 

Among remarkable points of interest we have defined four key ones: atmosphere, cuisine, culture and people, our country is famous for. We propose our guests to set out on a fascinating journey and open Ukraine, the country which despite all ups and downs of history was capable of preserving a variety of cultural sights we can be proud of today. 

On December 13, prior to St. Nikolas Day, RAC Kyiv attended inmates of Denyshy Ophanage (Zhytomyr region). As usual, we didn’t come empty-handed. On raised funds, with the aid of RC Kyiv’s members and Free Media Ukraine publishing house, we managed to purchase things they needed – warm winter jackets, house footwear, underwear, vitamins, juices and, of course, New Year’s sweets. Our thanks also go to Mars Ukraine for allotting chocolate presents for the kids. But the main surprise of the trip was meeting with a professional photographer, who took a portrait picture of every child, so they could treasure the memory of their childhood. 

Traditionally, we came with a New Year’s performance, transforming into fairy heroes and securing Grandfather Frost and Snegurochka’s aid, organized an interactive play with contests, games, songs and dances. It was nice to see how those kids grew in the past couple of months, we didn’t see them, and obtained completely new skills. The majority of their parents are divested of their parental rights, some kids come here with severe smudging and in a year they are able to sing, dance and perform. Due to a state program of stimulating adoptions, the number of kids in the orphanage significantly decreased – from 65 to 50 people. As this institution is sufficiently closed, spending time with guests is, probably, their biggest celebration, to which they prepared for quite a time.
